Education
The Paediatric Tuberculosis Network (ptbnet) plays a vital educational role in advancing knowledge and expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of childhood and adolescent tuberculosis.
Through its continuous commitment to professional development, the network organises international scientific meetings dedicated exclusively to paediatric tuberculosis. Previous meetings have been held in Padua (Italy), Vilnius (Lithuania), Sofia (Bulgaria), and most recently in Barcelona (Spain) in February 2024. These events bring together leading international experts, clinicians, and researchers to share the latest evidence, exchange best practices, and strengthen collaboration in the field of paediatric TB care.
In addition, ptbnet actively supports its members through a dynamic online educational community. The network hosts an email-based discussion group where paediatricians, infectious diseases and TB specialists from all over the world present challenging clinical cases, seek expert advice, and share valuable experiences. This platform fosters continuous learning and peer support, ensuring that the collective expertise of the global paediatric TB community is accessible to all members.
